Let's talk about spin rate - ELIXR or Avant 55?

According to John Calabria, senior technical adviser at OnCore Golf, ELIXR will spin off the driver about 2500 to 2600 rpm at 85 to 95 mph swing speed.  At higher swing speeds driver spin will increase slightly.  With irons, the spin rate increases, thanks to the increased loft and descending clubhead path. Typical 7-iron spin is around 5800 to 5900 rpm and wedge spin is 11,000 to 12,000 rpm.

So, If you want greater height for your shots, or if you have trouble stopping approach shots on the green, consider the greater spin rates of the ELIXR. In contrast, the Avant 55 ball spins at a lower rate, around 2000 to 2200 rpm with the driver. The 7-iron reaches 4800 to 5200 rpm, while the wedge charts between 8000 and 9000 rpm. Lower-spin balls aid with distance gains, especially among the slower-swinging set (juniors and seniors, typically.)

Here's a real-world fix for your game, based on spin. For the average golfer, pull the Avant 55 out when the wind picks up. Less spin means less divergence from the intended path and the target. If you need to carry more hazards, or if you need a bit more touch and feel around and on the putting surface, open a sleeve of ELIXR.
