I heard about the OnCore Golf demo day while listening to Rick Barry's interview on WGR55. I have to admit I was skeptical after hearing Mr. Barry's claims that the ball would immediately make me a better golfer and reduce the number of times I slice the ball. I've tried 20 different golf balls over the last 4 years and each produced the same result, a slice. I wasn't expecting much as I arrived at the demo day but, after my first hit, I was immediately amazed. My first shot with my 7 iron, which I've been having trouble with all season, went straight as an arrow.

Dear Oncore Golf, I really enjoyed demoing the Omen over at the Paddock Golf Dome this weekend. After hitting it there, and then playing it out on the course both Saturday and Sunday, I am very impressed and convinced that this is the best ball on the market. I shot an 89 Saturday and 86 on Sunday. I literally just became a better golfer! The Omen itself holds an extremely better line on the greens and was playing more from the fairway than I have ever been. Thank you for the great introduction to my new ball.

OMG!!!! I wanted you to know that I used one of those Oncore golf balls yesterday that you gave me. Holy s#@t. It's everything you said it would be and more. When you talked about the technology and how it self-corrected to avoid slicing, I was a little concerned that I'd be sacrificing distance for accuracy ( and I don't hit far in the first place). The truth is, I don't think I ever hit a golf ball farther in my life. (The sound at impact sounded like an M-80.) That thing took off like a rocket. I know you're originally from North Tonawanda and I know you're probably familiar with Deerwood golf course. In case you're not, the 18th hole is one of the toughest par 4 holes of any municipal course in WNY. It's a long, dog leg left with a huge pond in front of the green. You have to pound your first shot to even have a chance reach the green in 2 shots. (A lot of golf balls end up in that pond). With the Oncore, I hit my tee shot 265 yards. (As you know, I'm 56 years old ....I don't hit tee shots 265). I've played hundreds of round of golf at this course in the last 20 years and for the first time, I felt I was close enough to go for the green with my second shot, rather than lay up. I hit the green in the air (180 yards) on my second shot and rolled past the pin by 30 feet. And, yes, I did 2-put for par. The guys in my foursome couldn't believe what they saw and the ball was the talk of the clubhouse for the next hour. Everyone wants to know where they can buy a dozen. By the way, is the ball approved by the USGA? One guy asked, but no one else seemed to care. As long as it went far and straight, that's all the matters. Thanks for the loaner and for introducing me to my new "best friend."
